Changes to the sim only plans/tariffs

Hello,

I am not a fan of the new plans that EE has switched to. It feels like I am paying for more and receiving less.

Previously in the Full Works plans you would receive 3 smart benefits now you only receive 1.

Hopefully, EE will revert to the old style or at least make the new plans somewhat worth it. I am out of contract within 30 days and hoping something comes about before I start searching elsewhere.

All-rounder unlimited - A free watch plan and roaming in the EU  but as a smart benefit only Netflix basic with advert/google one 2TB.

Full works for Android - Free EU roaming and beyond with a watch plan and one smart benefit Netflix premium/ Google AI premium/TNT sports

Full works for iPhone -  Free EU roaming and beyond with a watch plan and one smart benefit TNT sports/apple one.

Totally agree with you — I was also waiting to join EE on June 1st specifically because of the previous Full Works iPhone plan that included Apple One.

It used to be £29/month and included Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, and iCloud, which saved around £18.50/month if you were using all of those services. Now, with the updated £27 plan, you only get Apple Music — and if you want Apple One, it costs £5 extra. So you're actually paying £32 for what used to be £29. Not really an improvement.

I’m currently on Lyca (which is frankly terrible in terms of service quality), and EE was my clear upgrade path — but now I’m not sure. I might still join if I can get the older plan somehow or if they improve the new ones.

Let’s hope EE reconsiders these changes or offers better incentives soon — especially for loyal or incoming customers.

The regular price for a Full Works SIM Only is £48pm, but what you have mentioned was a very good promotion for £29 which ended just a couple of days ago. Unfortunately you have missed out on this.

The new promotion is an All Rounder plan for £27, reduced from the regular price of £42. This is a completely different plan, as the Full Works plan included EU and Rest Of World Zone 1 Roaming, as well as the offering of the included Apple One as opposed to the Inclusive Extra choices of lesser value that an All Rounder plan provides.

Regardless of this, the thread you've latched onto isn't about a change in the promotional price or which plan is on offer (which reads to be the basis for your post), but instead this was about the Tariff Refresh change from the older types of Full Works plans to the current portfolio from the 29th August 2024 - with new and updated features and Inclusive Extra choices, as well as updating the Inclusive Roaming destinations to differentiate the plans.

As an aside  on the "better incentives" point and for a bit of context, a normal EE Essentials Unlimited plan was around £32 a year ago and this didn't include any benefits or Inclusive Roaming, and had capped speeds of 100 Mbps.

Considering this, EE's offerings have come a long way - especially from a value perspective when Inclusive Extras, Inclusive Roaming, 5G Standalone, Uncapped Speeds and Free Unlimited Watch Data are taken into account on promotional plans like these.
