Blue Light Discount on my new contract

I have upgraded my existing contract today and have a Blue Light Card as a Veteran. I was told I would get 20% off my bill and should register on the Perks site. However, when I tried to register it tells me my work email is not valid, and I do not have my forces ID being a veteran? How do I register and get my discount?

If you call EE up an explain this, they will ask you to get a vault code from the Blue Light Card app. There they can apply the 20% perk onto the account.
