Roaming in the US

I am in the US at the moment and have a roaming pass and roaming turned on but the majority of the time my iPhone (13 pro latest software) can’t even register in the network and I get sos only.  This is despite being in major towns ( Salt Lake City and Jackson).  I have double checked settings and all looks ok - have roamed in Europe many times without issues.  Haven’t even received any welcome to us texts from EE which I would expect.  Have tried to message ee via the app but that isn’t working - an I can’t call them! Any help please

If you have roamed in Europe then your issue will be one of two things.

1: You have EU-only roaming enabled, and therefore your phone is not enabled at network-level for non-EU networks. Only a call to EE-CS will now enable full global roaming.

2: You have international roaming enabled but there is an issue with the US networks in your location. The standard advice is to toggle flight mode and also manually select an alternative local network. For the US specifically, also take a read of https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-and-international/using-your-device-abroad/roaming-in-the-usa

Hi @Richardd44

Have you upgraded since you last used roaming? It does sound like it is not active on your account.

You'll need to use live chat, or +44 800 079 8586 on Skype to contact EE.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
Thanks for the quick response. No upgrades since we last roamed in Europe and I double checked roaming before we left so seems like a system glitch. I just reactivated my Skype credit so will call when i can get good wifi.

Regards Richard

Many thanks to all, used Skype to call customer services - for some reason (probably my fault) only EU roaming was enabled - I was sure I had added US but apparently not.
