Roaming in Japan

I'm wanting to receive text messages in Japan. I've arrived and roaming seems to be on, data off, connected to WiFi but nothing coming through

Did you text ROAMING to 150 to activate roaming before you travelled?

Thanks. No but I've used it in the past and I didn't before going to France last year when it worked fine

What's your basis for thinking that "roaming seems to be on" - does your phone show signal indicators of a Japanese network?

This is an account-level function which enables your phone to connect to foreign networks, and would have been enabled by texting ROAMING as advised above.

WiFi-calling isn't supported abroad.

Thanks. Sounds from advice above that I should text roaming each time I go abroad even though the EE website doesn't suggest it is necessary.

 Hi - I'm in Singapore and have paid for a 7 day package for 300 MG of data. But after 6 hours still saying 'waiting'. Any way I can get the data I paid for?

Does your phone have a signal? Are you able to make calls and send texts?
