Esim has no service in China

Hi, i am currently in China with an esim card and I have  no services at all. Before came here I texted Roam INT to 150 so I am sure the roaming is on. The plan i am using is contract(but it will ends in about 10 days, on app,  as I switched to payasyougo before I leave uk. They told me it’s okay to use it without physical card before it ends). I was able to make and receive calls from ChinaI in the uk and I have tried to reboot several times it doesn’t work.

Hi @ouyoood,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Do you have a spend cap on your account?

Hi @ouyoood

You cannot have an esim on payg. If you have swapped over to payg then it is likely you were sent a sim to your address and your esim was cancelled.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi James,

thanks for your reply.

I had and in response to your reply I just turn it off(plus reboot both card and phone) but still no service.

there is one thing I noticed is that I don’t have the global roaming pass in my add ons I don’t know if this is a problem.

Hi @ouyoood

Is there a chance your SIM has moved to pay as you go now?

When did you speak with our customer care team was it around 30 days ago?

Texting Roam INT will not activate roaming. You will need to have text ROAMING to 150

Katie

Hi,

No but it should be fine before next bill.

thanks

Thanks for confirming @ouyoood

It sounds like roaming may not be active on your account.

Do you have another phone with you that you could contact our customer care team on?

The team can be contacted on +44 7953 966 150.

Speak soon,

Katie

Hi Katie,

I think the chance is small as I was able to make calls before I board the plane. The last time I speak to them was about 10 days ago and they told me esim would be cancelled by last bill date.

I did text ROAMING and got message confirmation says device is set up to be used for roaming in any country. But it was only set 2 hrs earlier before I board the plane(within uk). Now I am thinking could this setting process actually took a longer time and which means it’s not on by the time I leave the country?

Hello @ouyoood

Have you tried manually searching for another available network?

Are you aware if you have a spend cap on your account?

Katie

How do you make that out? If you switched from a contract on eSIM to PAYG which doesn't support eSIM, you must be in a mess. Or do you mean you'll be OK cuz it takes 30 days notice before the switch can take place?
