HI, just called up to query my roaming bill and one of the things I was told that whilst I was overseas, if someone called my UK mobile number that they ( still in the UK ) would be charged for making an international call.
Is that actually right? Seems very unfair if it is

No, it is not right! Calling a UK number wherever it is from UK is included in caller's allowance. You however will be charged for receiving it.

Thank you - I even checked back to ask that was what she meant and told again that its the person in the UK who gets charged.
I also didnt know I would be charged for accepting a call whilst away ( Yikes!! )) cos I did. Lets see how much that comes out at

Where were you overseas? You can see your roaming charges to receive calls under https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/

Hungary - Thanks for the link
According to that though it tells me Receiving calls is included in the daily roaming charge, so I might be okay as I was certainly using data each day so will be charged £2.29 so any calls I received should be fine

It's a fundamental principle of telecoms that you are charged for the number you have dialled, irrespective of where the recipient of the call physically is. You have correctly identified that any alternative approach would indeed be unfair.

Yes, as you are paying the £2.29 daily roaming charge you will be covered for receiving any calls.
