I just joined EE 2 days ago and when I was doing it I was told that in my postcode I would have excellent connection indoors and outdoors however when I use it I only have one bar constantly and the man said I would have upwards of 100mbs speeds and it’s currently at 5mbs
I just want to know what’s wrong as it’s not usable

To my knowledge, EE's mobile network has never offered any guaranteed data speeds - this is normally the preserve of fixed line networks.
There's nothing inherently wrong with "only" having one-bar, the onscreen indicators are only a rough guide to service.
EE's mobile coverage checker is at https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee - indoor coverage is never guaranteed, but does the outdoor service broadly tally?

The man that sold me the sim only plan saying I will reach speeds close to 100mbs, and for the signal checker it says I should have excellent connection in and outdoors, as I only have one bar I am completely unable to search anything online as it just doesn’t work

What does the coverage checker show as an estimate for the coverage to be for your postcode?
