How to change 4GEE Home to the 5GEE Home

I have upgraded from the 4GEE to the 5GEE and although I can see my data allowance is correct, the router will not connect. My devices recognise it but it does not connect to the internet. The WPS is light up on the front. The signal and internet symbols are red. Do I need to register the SIM? It asks for a mobile number to send a PIN to which I cannot do when it is a hub and not a phone despite having a mobile number. Previous upgrades I have only had to plug in and reconnect.
Many thanks

@Jayros : You did get a new 5G router with your upgrade?

Your 5G router should've worked straightaway just like your 4G router.

All mobile routers contain a SIM & therefore have a mobile no. To discover your mobile no. either:

  1. Look at the packaging the SIM came in.
  2. Text NUMBER to 150 from it, if it allows you to.
  3. Look at http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to see your mobile no. at the top.

Hello again, just tried to activate the SIM and the online instruction says to have the mobile with the old SIM ready so a PIN can be sent. It is not for a mobile phone but for a home hub so a number cannot be received as such. Any further advice please, much appreciated.

You'll find that most mobile routers can do texts. Login to it & look for the SMS section.
