5GEE + Philips Hue Bridge

Hello, I can't seem to get the Hue Bridge to connect to the most recent 5GEE router.

I seem to be able to get 2/3 lights to stay solid apart from the internet one which is flashing.

I've created a new IPv4 profile in the 5GEE router admin and the Hue can clearly be seen in the router parental control admin area as per this forum article.

My Ring Alarm's also disconnected now that I've switched to IPv4. (Reboot may fix).

I'm handy with most things but networking clearly isn't my forte.

Anyone had similar issues?

Thanks

How is the Hue bridge connected to the router?

Does anything else connected to the router have internet access?

I've tried direct - no luck.

Set the TP Link Deco mesh to google DNS as primary/secondary and all 3 lights come on the hue.

Seems the issue is with the 5GEE router. I can't see where to change DNS settings to Google's.

I've changed the profile on the 5GEE router to IPv4 only as suggested here.

Solved.

Leaving this here in case anyone needs it:

My setup:

EE 5GEE router > TP Link Powerline Adaptor > TP Link Deco Mesh M5 Router > Ethernet Hub > Philips Hue Bridge

I did:

  • Plugged Hue Bridge into Ethernet Hub
  • Factory Reset 5GEE Hub
  • Created a new IPv4 Profile in settings + set to default
  • Added Google Public DNS to TP Link Deco Mesh [Primary: 8.8.8.8, Secondary 8.8.4.4.]
  • Rebooted/powercycled everything
  • Went off and did stuff
  • Checked Hue Bridge and all 3 lights were on.
  • Connected to Hue iOS App
  • Sorted
  • For Alexa — It wasn't seeing the bridge on the Alexa iOS app so connected the Hue skill via http://alexa.amazon.co.uk in a browser and everything works fine.
