Hi @Hils44.

Welcome to the community.

Community badges are a way of users tracking their achievements and progress in the community. It also helps track how often you're posting and can be a fun way to motivate users to interact with eachother.

Gold stars... That brings back memories of when I was in primary school 50 years ago!

You're right that achievement badges serve no practical purpose if you came here wanting answers and don't plan on sticking around. If you do feel that you can help then they can be a form of motivation, as can your "rank", people finding your answers helpful and your answers being marked as solutions to someone's problem.

You're right! I've never seen any point in them & never track them.

@Hils44   It’s a bit of fun and it hurts no one.  it might not be to everyone taste like yours but that doesn’t mean you should or could play it down as you have done.    Why make a point of not liking it why go out of your way to make a post of it.  Do you want more badges as this is how you build them up.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Goodness me. It looks like I have rocked somebody's boat. My apologies if I have hurt your feelings.

I don’t fully understand your message, I assume you mean either; the way users are currently recognised has no purpose/meaning or you feel that recognition should be rewarded differently.

I do think a better recognition scheme could be implemented, one where users are also rewarded financially rather than just a ‘gold star’.

Now I usually would advise you to stop using this platform if your not happy but I get the feeling you would like to continue and you were only voicing your opinion.

have a good Christmas

Hi Glenn 93. My meaning was that, being part of a community, asking and offering help, do you really need rewarding for that? Community means people with like-minded interests coming together and part of that is community spirit ie: voluntary without reward, My initial comment was that badges felt like being treated as though I was a 7 year old. No, I don't think financial rewards are necessary either. I will continue to ask for help when needed but otherwise no further comment. I wish everyone peace and happiness.
