Cannot upgrade?

Hello all. My contract is ending on 23/1 and I did apply for a free upgrade to a sim only plan a month ago. Just wondering though if this will automatically take effect after the end of contract. I could not find any proof, no email or nothing stated in my EE app/account regarding the next contract/plan I have applied for. I checked into my account as well and is now saying I cannot upgrade when my contract is ending in two weeks’ time. Does that mean because I already have a pending contract after the current one ends?

Yes, when you upgrade to a SIM only plan from a phone plan, it starts when your current minimum term ends. 🙂
