Upgrades for Christmas

I'm looking to buy phones now for my children as Christmas presents but don't want the contract to start until Christmas Day, am I able to do that?

They already have SIM only contracts which I'm looking to upgrade with new pay monthly phones.

Unfortunately not. They will start as soon as the phone is dispatched
