How to extend WiFi to summer house in the garden

Beckishaw

Hi

I have a summer house in the garden which is about 10 metres away from the house I need to use for an office but the WiFi signal doesn’t seem to be very good from the house .

I have a booster but doesn’t seem to do the job very well.

Is there anything more I can do ?

Does the summer house have a mains supply from the house on the same distribution fuse? If so, you could use Powerline Adapters.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Will the EE booster plug connect my WiFi to my summer house? It has power going straight from a source in my kitchen

If your planning on using this as an Office location, thre way I would do it is to run a Secondary Cat 5e cable(s) from the existing Router location to the Summer House then use a Second Router.

It's not the easiest way forward but is certainly the best way forward for a reliable Work Environment.
