Apple music smart benefit

I've just upgraded and cos apple music as a smart benefit. Trying to create the Apple ID it auto populates with my phone number but won't actually set up my ID. It says to contact apple support but they have no idea how to help. Any ideas?

Have you tried entering your Apple ID and password manually, @Jake1717?

 

It should be an email address.

Hi Chris, thanks for the suggestion but it won't allow me to change the ID. I open the app and it says I have apple music with my plan and to create an ID, when I click on that it opens up and auto populates the ID with my phone number and says my ID will be my phone number. I then have to set a password and provide my details and sign up to the terms, then submit. I do all that and press submit and nothing happens, just a message to contact apple support. When I do that they then say my ID should be an email!

Do you already have an Apple ID, @Jake1717? Is there an option to log in as opposed to registering?

 

 

Could you post a screenshot of the page (without any of your information showing)?

No, I don't already have an ID and apple music had been added as part of my smart plan. I can't share a screen shot as it would have my phone number in the ID field.

Hi, I went through the contract us by phone in the EE app.

 

However, go to the apple website direct and create an ID. Then go through your link and open apple music. Click that you already have an ID and log in with your ID and then follow all the instructions you receive. 

 

That's what worked for me.
