Activating Cisco Femto

Hi, I have got a second hand Cisco Femto, and understand that it needs to be activated with EE, and all that is required is the IMEI and Post Code. Was wondering if someone could help how I go about doing this please?

Many thanks

HI @deviseruk

Welcome to the EE Community,.

unfortunately EE won't activate second hand signal boxes.

Thanks,

David.

As usual, EE just try to make using their network impossible.  I have a Cisco signal box, provided at my old address because of abysmal "service".  I've moved house, and since I moved, some idiots destroyed a local cell site (believing it was giving them coronavirus!).  EE haven't seen the need to reinstate the destroyed plant, so there's a substantial hole in service in this neighbourhood.  Several calls to EE reporting awful "service" have been ignored.

I called to get the signal box reactivated at my new address to give me some measure of mobile service in my home.  I provided the details that were requested, and was told that it would be activated in a day or two - that was over four weeks ago.  It's still rapidly blinking green, waiting to get set up.  It is NOT "secondhand"!

Why are EE so utterly inept?  Why do they NEVER do what they promise?  Why do they keep increasing my monthly bills whilst providing less and less service?

Why doesn't wi-fi calling work properly and reliably?  I have three wi-fi networks here, which my Samsung S10 is supposed to connect to - it does for data, but not for phonecalls.  "Wi-fi Calling" is enabled in settings....

Do I have to cancel this account and go to a professional mobile service provider?

Hi @Micteseter

Welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear you've had some problems registering your signal box. Have you spoken to our technical support team recently to explain it hasn't registered fully?

The software on some phones is set to prefer the mobile network over WiFi calling, so if your phone picks up any signal at all, it may stop using the WiFi for phone signal. Putting your phone into 'airplane mode' may help with call quality until you manage to get your signal box re-activated.
