I’ve had my 4GEE home router 2017 for several years now and although I only get 1 bar of signal it’s been pretty reliable and allows me to work from home and get a fairly decent speed.
In the last week, however, I’m finding that the signal constantly drops - no lights anymore on the signal. I’ve not moved the router, it’s still in the same place but performance has dropped dramatically meaning I’m having to now use my O2 mobile to connect my laptop and work from home.
Moving the router to another room higher in the house does seem to help, restoring it to 1 bar signal, but then I have issues with connecting via WiFi in my study and I can’t then connect by Ethernet to my Sky Q box.
Any ideas why this would suddenly change? This is driving me mad and constantly interrupting my work connection.
Thanks

Hi @Julesb1974
Have you checked the network faults checker for any issues in your area?
There may have been a recent change or there could be a current problem. That site includes facilities to register for updates and also report suspected issues.

Hi,
Yes, I tried that already. Initial check shows no issues and when I reported an issue I got a message back saying there were no problems found.
Thanks.

Your next step would be to either test with an EE mobile in the same locations to see if it's also affected, or then to call EE C/S and try to be passed to an appropriately trained/experienced (probably second-line) agent. They have further diagnostic toolsets available to look at your area in a little more detail.
There may have been a recent change to your serving site, or there could be an as-yet unidentified fault that needs a closer look to pick up on.
