iPhone 18 Cases

Went into an Apple shop yesterday as I was passing to ask if a case from the 17PM would fit the 18PM and the guy said they were different phones and wouldn’t work which seems odd as they’re the same dimensions.

Has anyone seen or been told otherwise?

The camera bump is a little taller  on the 18 pro max than it is on the 17 pro max, so a 18 pro max case will fit a 17 pro max phone but a 17 pro max case won’t necessarily fit the 18 pro max phone and give enough clearance to cover the camera lenses if you get me, just depends on the case manufacturer and how much clearance they put on there old iPhone 17 pro max cases on the camera bump last year, some company’s saying they will fit and protect and some saying they won’t, like I said it’s all about how tall the camera protector on back of case is.
