Obtaining QR code to set up new iphone

Hiya  I have recently purchased a new iphone and am trying to transfer the number from my old one.  The bluetooth syncing is not working and the alternative appears to be scanning a QR code.  Does anyone know where I can obtain this QR code from?

Thanks

Hey there @M389 😊

Welcome to the EE Community!

Just to be sure, have you tried the option for eSIM quick transfer, as outlined in this help article from Apple?

If this still isn't working for you, I'd recommend visiting one of our retail stores.

Provided you have a valid passport or UK driving license, you can get your eSIM QR pack sorted out right away, or you can also request a physical SIM too.

Thanks for your response.  I am unable to do this as I dont have the option for Mobile Data, only Mobile Service which doesnt have the Add eSim option.  It wont transfer from nearby phone and the only other option is Use QR code but I cant find out how to get the required QR code.  I am away next week and dont have time to be able to visit a shop before I go unfortunately.

Thanks @M389.

I've got an iPhone myself and it's showing the option for Add eSIM here; this is where you can do the transfer from a nearby phone.

You may need to scroll down past the personal hotspot options etc before seeing this.

No definitely not there, I think is because there is no Mobile Data associated with the phone, it is asking me to set up mobile service which is what I am trying to do 😞

@M389 You should be able to generate a QR code by logging into the EE app on your older phone, going to Manage> Settings> Replace SIM/eSIM> Another device. That would generate a QR code on the old phone to scan and download an eSIM to your new one then follow the steps to activate it.

Though you could try skipping the QR part and just follow the same steps on your new phone but select This device instead of another device, to download the eSIM to the phone that way and then activate it.

We have a help page with a video here which may help to see the steps Set up and use an eSIM | Mobile Help | EE
