Hi. I have an iPhone SE (A2275) and I’ve put my sim into an iPhone SE (A2296) but I’m not getting 4G on the new phone. All I get is the “E”.
I’ve switched this sim between a few phones and I’ve never had this issue before. Is there anyone who knows what the issue is?
Thanks

"E" indicates a 2G-EDGE connection. Either the phone is set to exclude 4G/lock to 2G, or there's a fault with 4G in your area.
Comparing with another EE phone should identify which applies.

So my other phones work fine so the 4G signal in the area is not an issue.
How do I check if the device is locked out of 4G?

Hi @TescoCatalogue,
Go to Settings > Mobile data > Mobile data options > Voice and data.
Is 4G turned on?

Yes. 4G is selected and VolTE is on. I bought a pay as you go sim today which is also not working on this particular device but I’m at a loss as to why.

Thanks for checking your settings, this does show 4G should work for you on this device.
Have you tried backing up all data using iCloud and factory resetting the iPhone?

I’ve just tried this and still no joy. It’s my sisters old phone and I think she may have bought it in New Zealand while I’m based in the UK. Could that affect it at all?

It's certainly a possibility.
The frequency bands in use largely overlap between NZ & the UK, but has the phone ever worked on EE UK previously?

Yes. When she came back she picked up a pay as you go sim from asda and had the phone working alright.

Hi @TescoCatalogue,
Have you tried resetting your network settings?
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
