Hi All,
Just ordered the new Iphone 12Pro however Idrop news is reporting that
"When using two lines in Dual SIM mode, 5G data isn’t supported on either line and will fall back to 4G LTE. If customers are using eSIM only and are on a 5G-supported carrier and service plan, they’ll have 5G access."
Just wondered if this also apples to the UK and specifically EE? if there are any techies out there.
Cheers
John

It's the same with Android phones with Qualcomm modems in them. No dual 5g/4g so not really a surprise, though Apple should have been a bit more up front about it.
So yes, it applies to the UK too. If you have two SIMs, you can't use 5G on either unless you disable one.
Hopefully Apple will get the update out before the end of the year to allow it.

Seems a software update later this year may enable 5G for dual sim iPhones

Qualcomm have been saying that for ages. The OnePlus 8 launched in April and is waiting for the OTA update along with every other dual SIM 5G Qualcomm phone released this year.
Hopefully the clout of Apple will mean it does actually happen by the end of the year, though I suspect Android users will be left waiting for the update.
