Can I upgrade my phone 45 days after my contrat has ended?

My Phone contract ended in April 2020. It says on my EE account you can upgrade your phone 45 days after your contract expires. It's October 2020 now, does this mean I am no longer eligible to upgrade my phone?

 

If that's the case, Why didn't I receive any notification or email that my contract had ended?

You may even upgrade your contract 45 days before your min. contract term expires.

 

These contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly cancel or upgrade.
