Can't you just connect your mobile by WiFi to the home router that your PC is running over & just use its data?

I have no idea how - I have never had a smart phone before so I don't know any of this stuff and I can't find anything on YouTube that explains it. They all assume a great deal of background knowledge which I don't have. I do have a USB cable that can plug the phone into the PC

On the mobile go to somewhere like Settings > Connections > WiFi. Enable WiFi if it is OFF. Click on it & you'll see a list of WiFi networks in range. Look for your router's network SSID(s). Choose stronger 1 of those & supply the router's WiFi pwd or key which you should find on a label on the router.

I don't think USB gives you access to Net.

Thanks very much! That worked,  and I now have the web on my phone. Now I need to figure out how to find and download the QR scan app

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & that's now sorted.

Your phone should have an appstore app on it, probably Google PlayStore or Apple iStore.

What you gonna do with the QR code once you've scanned it since you have no printer?
