We were told a year ago that Android 11 was imminent for the Huawei P30 Pro. So, EE, a year on, where is it, as my phone is still on Android 10? See https://piunikaweb.com/2020/08/03/ee-uk-android-11-android-r-update-is-your-phone-eligible-and-suppo....

Hi @pnewest

Simple put never. You were and never will get Android 11 as it's banned on Huawei devices as per the US embargo.

You should receive the EMUI 11 update and security patches (at a slow rate) but no Android OS updates.

Thanks

Although the P30 Series escaped the Google Ban due to early age, a lot of water has passed under the bridge by now and Huawei have given up on GMS now.

You should be able to download Huawei Harmony OS and in theory still have access to GMS, but that's the best it's going to get for the time being.

Just going to respond to you correcting you just incase anyone else sees this incorrect information.

Any phone, including the P30 series released before the US ban will get full android and GMS updates.

Only those such as the P40 Series, Mate 40 Series, P50 series. Although Huawei did say something about Android 11 on EMUI 13, as Android is open source anyone can use it

Also the Nova 9 came pre-installed with Android 11 and that was released a few months ago.
