Google Chat on Android with EE

Hello, everyone,

I'm new to EE and need advice, please, about the cost, if any, of "Google Chat" ON STANDBY.

To get rid of the large annoying Chat message on my IMO Q2 Plus android obscuring messages, I've had to "Agree" to GC's terms and conditions. This is despite the fact that I have no intention of using it. (Indeed, the more I see of electronic technology in general, the less I want anything to do with it. So, I'll be using it much less than I originally imagined.)

Would anyone know whether or not I would be subject to some standing charge and / or other charges even if I give GC a wide berth?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help.

@Buratic  Your not charged to use it. It uses your data allowance to send and receive messages by it.

Hello, Chris B.

Many thanks for so promptly putting my mind at
ease. I would have felt aggrieved if Google Chat
was charging merely for being on standby.

But, please don't forget, when you phone, for example
HMRC (!) and you're kept on "hold" for 45 minutes, you're
being charged for receiving nothing in return, except the
trying of your patience. Thank God too we're not charged
for waiting at supermarket checkouts, garages, Accident
and Emergency and so on.

Best regards,

Buratic
