Hello everyone:
I have had an EE account for years that I pay on time, there are no arrears or fraud markers on the account.
I work abroad but want to use my new phone abroad with a local SIM.
I was told by the sales rep on the phone that you couldn't unlock the phone until after six months and this is a measure to prevent fraud i.e. people taking out an expensive phone, not paying the bill and then selling said phone.
When I said this is no good to me, I will need to cancel the order if this is the case, the rep said that it should be fine, I need to contact EE and they will look into my account, see it is in good standing and then unlock it.
Is this the case or was this optimistic thinking to persuade me to take out the handset?
Thanks
Graham
