EE today launched its new TV service, EE TV, available with EE Broadband.

EE TV means amazing entertainment and sport, with Sky channels from NOW, Netflix, TNT Sports and more – through flexible packages that can be changed month to month, so customers only have to pay for what they want to watch.

The biggest news? EE TV will launch on Apple TV 4K via a new app with a bespoke TV guide for a complete and seamless live TV experience, as well as an EE branded remote offering instant app access. Customers can now choose the best TV experience for them, with a range of set top boxes including Apple TV 4K, EE TV Box Pro, or EE TV Box Mini.

For customers wanting to watch in multiple rooms, only EE TV comes with up to 2 extra EE TV Box Mini’s at no extra cost.

Those joining the new EE TV service will be able to enjoy six months free Apple TV+. Apple TV+ offers award-winning Apple original series and films, from hit dramas to star-studded comedies, ground-breaking documentaries to kids’ favourites, with new premieres added every month.

Hi Downloader,

I see BT and EE are following their usual path and I fully understand
your frustration.

I am still awaiting my notification for completion.

It is difficult to remain positive.

Chin up.

@muffs I think he deleted his account as can’t tag him - anyway I got my complaint closed and was paid £40 due to the issue with not being able to control my WiFi through the app probably like hundreds of people and also for the mess with EE TV but I also have written confirmation that if this is not fixed I am free to leave without paying termination charges at any time. So at least I’m not a prisoner. Funny just got an email with 7.9% annual increase - of course they don’t have an issue with this do they 😉

Hi Downloader,

It would appear we are both in the same boat.

If only we had a paddle.

I feel that because BT already have my business they are not
sufficiently motivated to provide the service I believed I was contracting.

Hi Qucharsky,

At least they are talking to you and you are getting a measure of joy.

Well done.

"New Business" appears to be all they are striving for as an organisation.

Recently, I have been finding disparate and sometimes conflicting
information when I log into my BT and EE accounts, with recursive pages
and dead ends.

I can only conclude BT have made a right "Royal ....." of this
rebranding and platform release.

@muffs i will just cancel and ask my parents to take in their name to create a new account as this is effectively the  way to get this sorted. i will loose the 1.6gb broadband but i can live with 900mb one and if i do it at the end of the month ill also avoid the price increases till next year 😂 so a win win but trust me i would rather not do all this just for the stupid TV but i just want to prove the point here. not only i dont receive full service but im asked to pay more - absolute joke!

Hi Qucharsky,

Your proposed action was cited previously as a solution which worked.

But I presumed it was an approach only available to those not in-contract.

My broadband was upgraded to Halo 500 in January as part of my migration
to EE, so I have a new Broadband  contract in place with BT.

I might be able to to get the BT contract quashed via the complaints
procedure (exit without penalty due to misrepresentation) and order
BB&TV with EE.

I object to such aggravation but in the complete absence of promised
feedback from BT/EE, I may have to go that route.

Avoiding the March BB increase is another matter though.

Good luck.

@muffs I only asked once on twitter and after few days of waiting they agreed without much hassle so it’s definitely worth exploring I would say!

What’s the latest ladies and gents? I have an upcoming appointment in a local EE store next Tuesday, which is when they anticipated being able to get me sorted (when I called in 3 or 4 weeks ago).

BT Broadband/TV customer and EE Mobile customer with 2 lines👍🏻

@Pingybop i have lost all interest in this to be fair. Don’t seem to be going anywhere I was told that being on the 1.6gbps package EE TV can’t be added for now. I was offered to cancel and sign up again for 900mbps to add tv at the point of order but to be fair I can’t be bothered anymore. I’ll use the free cancellation to cancel at the end of March to sign up for virgin media as much cheaper with tv and will avoid price rises at the same time. It’s not just about the TV since I took broadband I have none of the additional functionality that is so widely advertised as EE app won’t pair with my hub. Again no timescales as to when this will be fixed. So I’m just going to give up 😂

Sounds promising for me then 🤣

I feel everyone’s pain.  My migration from bt to ee broadband was a complete mess, 3.5 months to get the order closed off and the kit sent out for the hybrid and then first one was send out inactive because  of another account issue.  Finally got that sorted but now can’t order EE tv as no products show with prices seems yet another account alignment  issue especially as I can’t order WiFi enhancer either. Only problem getting someone to refer it to the back office team to sort it.  Tbh I’m loosing interest in EE and having just had the 7.9% increase email for a service  I’ve had 2 months was shall we say a kick in the teeth. Think I’ll stick with the other well known provider, been with BT / EE for 40 years and they seem disinterested in keeping long standing customers or getting new business from them.

@F8talfury i can’t agree more. Don’t get me wrong. Apart from relatively slow upload for a fibre the download speeds of well over 1gbps over WiFi are impressive and I never had a single fault or outage with my service itself. But anything else is a mess. No proper app, controls etc from day 1 and also unable to order TV because I’m on 1.6gbps service 😂

@qucharsky the actual service speed itself has definitely been ok except a physical fault which the team got openreach to sort, just a shame the peripheral bits like the app etc aren’t good.  There’s a few weird bugs in it the smart WiFi plus as well which I’ve fed back and can work round; sure it’ll get sorted in time it’s just annoying when the guides try and help they’re hindered by bad back office systems which are overly buggy,

Was told by an agent 2 weeks ago to avoid his if you are an existing customer due to the technical issues they are having with accounts and direct debit set ups

So I attended my scheduled appointment at the EE store close to my office at lunch today - dare I say it, it was a relatively straight forward process to get everything sorted.
Have since received a message to state my new look EE broadband is up and running and line tests have been successful.

Delivery of new equipment is perhaps the remaining element which could go array - but I’m a positive chap, so I have some faith at the moment. But it won’t cause a huge issue for now… as an existing BT customer, I have a working router and tv box at present, so comfortable to wait for the new bits to arrive.

Also managed to get current SIM only mobile plan with EE dropped from £27 per month to £13 per month, with unlimited data. Once my lads contract is up in May I’ll be doing the same with that.

All in all, a decent result today

Update…. Text received from Royal Mail to inform that equipment is arriving this morning

Pingybop

Further update - all equipment arrived as indicated…. Even a new router which I wasn’t expecting as I’d been informed that I’d be keeping the BT router. Also unexpectedly received a smart WiFi plus box.

From order to receipt and set up of equipment within 24hrs, quite impressed!

Sorry, I know this doesn’t help those who are still struggling, but hopefully this provides a glimmer of hope to those that are!

@Pingybop which broadband package did you go for? Only reason I ask is there are two that come with the smart WiFi plus and it’s shall we say a little unclear on the ads etc.  glad ur kit all arrived hopefully the setup was ok.  My setup was good just my backend account being in the mess prevented some bits working as expected. Once the correct backoffice team got involved it has now 90% been sorted.  Just watch for your first bill the broadband product name may look wrong, just check the price is correct and it shows ok in the EE app. It’s a known issue in the backend where those of us who moved from bt to new ee can see an older product name.   Good luck with the rest of your journey with the Products.

@F8talfury  Morning!

Thank you, I’ll definitely keep an eye on that! Couple things I have noticed is that the full works package online (which I asked for in store when moving the broadband and tv across) states that standard Netflix and sky cinema are included.

I definitely don’t have access to sky cinema and I haven’t received any emails with codes for Netflix, so I’ll be giving EE a call this morning!

The other thing I’ve noticed is that the WiFi controls within the EE app are broken, simply doesn’t work (neither is the app itself this morning)!

The broadband package is the Fibre 67 essentials from memory, part of what was advertised to be the full works package.

@Pingybop  If it the full works package (the £76 a month one) you should have cinema, sports, Netflix standard so basically everything.  You should get some email's / comms I believe to setup the NowTV account and then link it which should give you all the TV stuff and then an email with again a link to activate Netflix or link your exiting account.  If you've not had the emails definitely worth giving the team a call.  Full works boradband without TV comes with both the Hybrid connect and smart wifi-plus included if you've not paid the £7 extra a month for hybrid it seems the full works stuff maybe will as well which is an added bonus 🙂 and cheaper than full works broadband on its on which is £80 a month (ouch).

Hi Pingybop @F8talfury @Billybobthornto @qucharsky @Downloader @MrCook3 @DD64 @Mirrirs90 @Eks71 .. @Eastie19 ..
Thanks to the encouraging indications in your posts and in the absence of promised call-back from BT/EE and no email advising completion of my migration from BT to EE services.
I contacted them today on 150 and was able to complete arrangements for the transfer.
My equipment for EETV (not AppleTV) including 2 room-boxes and EE broadband will be arriving next week, for commissioning on 27th.
It will have been 3 months from making the original undertaking with BT.
I was also advised that whilst not all issues with the corporate migration to EE have yet been resolved, as some of you have encountered, they are presently concentrating on existing BT customers followed by EE.
Despite this prioritisation, BT customers with ancillary services from BT may not be able to migrate immediately.
It does appear that the Sales department "have their ducks lined up now", being able to give definitive answers and options.
It transpires that there never was an official or formal "waiting list", despite implications of same given by Sales staff.
I surmise, client contact undertakings by Sales staff were personal undertakings, in the belief they would have definitive options to offer by the promised contact date.
Whilst I am pleased to have a formal/contractual undertaking/arrangement in place, there is a downside. EE are provisioning to collect the old equipment (probably inherited EE/WEEE directive compliance) which means my wife will lose all of her recordings within 14 days post commissioning.
Despite "P....up in a brewery" and "low hanging fruits" coming to mind regarding the organisation behind this merger/rebranding and service launch, technical issues notwithstanding; I hope this post is of use to some.

I was told I could change my package month;y or add on extras on a monthly basis as the app confirms in the options - however on ringing EE to add on the cinema extra at £9.99 a month I’m told they are unable on the system to add on any extras or change any packages and this has been the case for the last month?

surely this is mis selling the product on the basis you can change packages monthly and now be told they are unable to make any changes on the new EE packages?

After nearly 2 months and being transferred 3 times to get me to the right
department on Monday. My 2 mini boxes are on their way.

Gotta say all 3 guides I spoke with were more than helpful and each one was
knowledgeable about the products.A complete 180 on what I previously
experienced.

I have to agree with others, I believe EE launched new features and
products which were either not fit for purpose or they failed to train
their teams on those products.

Boxes are due to arrive later today will update if and hopefully when they
do.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I have just ordered EE broadband, Full Works TV, EE TV Box pro and 2 mini boxes.  Can anyone advise if the mini boxes can be networked with the main box so that recordings on the main box can be viewed through a remote tv connected to a mini-box (as with a SkyQ set up)?  When I ordered the set up I was assured that, whilst I could not initiate a recording from a mini-box, I could nevertheless view one.  Having researched the matter in the meantime, I am not sure that this is the case.

Hi

No you cannot watch recordings or record on the mini boxes . Sounds like typical ee/bt staff not knowing about the products they are selling
