Considering moving to EE

Hi. I'm currently an EE mobile user and considering moving my broadband from Sky to EE. I have FTTP but have had problems with sky. @JimM11 has been really helpful on the sky forum trying to help me sort the issues. I was hoping to use my ASUS RT-AC86U instead of the provided smart hub plus to help provide better coverage in my home. Can anyone help provide the details needed to do this and settings needed on the ASUS router. I found a post on how to do it with BT (see photo) but have been unable to find anything for EE. Thank you in advance.

@ArgyleGreen Welcome to the forum, settings that you require are exactly the same as for BT no different. Advice would be start off with the EE router, once you have it all working, park it away, and then move onto your Asus router. Same rules as for sky, support at EE can only help with there Kit.

EE do publish this info as a Help article. In Using & Configuring a Third Party Router you'll find everything you need to set up your router incl. the BB PPPoE creds. which are now the same as BT's.

I am in the process of planning to move to EE after I've cancelled my contract with sky. I have saved the link for when I do move over. 

You shouldn't have cancelled your BB with Sky. You should've just applied to EE & they would've taken care of everything except your final Sky bill. That would make the migration more seamless.

Unfortunately I'm still in contract with Sky but they have agreed that I can leave without penalty because of the issues. I'm waiting in a follow up call tomorrow where I will tell them I want to exercise my right to cancel. I'm worried that if I sign up to EE first I will have to pay the exit fees.
