Swapped from Sky to EE broadband. Do I need to pay line rental?

Hi all

i have recently signed up to EE changing my broadband from sky to the EE Full Fibre 150 essentials package. With sky I also paid for live rental which included a land line number.

When I signed up EE told me I don’t need to pay for line rental and the broadband will work. It just means I won’t have a landline number anymore which I am fine with.

However as part of me leaving sky they have told me my new broadband with EE won’t work without a landline or paying line rental.

So who is correct?

You don't pay line rental with EE BB.

Thanks for replying

so just to be absolutely certain the new broadband will work when they come to install it in a weeks time, even though sky will have deactivated my land line?

Yes, with FF it doesn't use a landline. The BB comes over Fibre to the ONT modem box fixed to the interior of an outside wall.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.
