Hi EE/experts out there !
Situtation
I will be connecting up a UniFy network with separate Unify router/firewall (UXG Gateway Max) and wireless APs to EE broadband and from other posts I can see that EE router is not capable or running in bridge or modem mode only.
The incoming connection is via VDSL (copper cable to local switchboard with fibre optic cable after switchboard and download speeds ranging 30 to 60Mbps).
Think it will be messy with EE router operating in normal mode and connecting UniFy router/firewall to one of LAN ports in EE router (and not having anything connected to other ports). DHCP and DNS could be fiddly/temperamental I suspect with potential conflicts between EE router and UniFy router/firewall. Unless there's something easy to get around this ? (using static internal IPs I guess for EE router and UniFy router/firewall)
So looking to purchase something like a Draytek Vigor 166 or TP-Link 9970 (cheaper) and set up in modem or bridge mode only with LAN output to UniFy router/firewall WAN connection.
Questions :
(1) Is there anything besides PPOE mode that I need to configure in the UniFy router/firewall when connected to new modem ?
(2) Will UniFy router/firewall automatically find EE as the subscribed ISP and connect seamlessly ? (presumably by telephone number or physical connection line known by EE ?)
Many thanks

Many thanks XRaySpeX - I now just need to work out why a TP-Link 9970 is much cheaper to buy than than a Draytek Vigor 166 or 167 acting as a modem/bridge. Not an EE problem ! (and separate performance specs/review checking exercise for me)

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

Hi again XRaySpeX,
I assume I only need to use Username starting with PRODUCTION for third party UniFy router as password cannot be revealed for EE config as below ? ("hidden for security")
In which case, presumably password would be left blank for new router ?
Thanks

No, it can't when using that Username! There is a way to work out the pwd from the digits in the Username but you don't need to do that.
Just use the Username/pwd in the link I gave you: bthomehub@btbroadband.com / BT or blank.

That's a lot easier - many thanks
