Hi, I've just recently joined EE on SIM only, I was previously with Vodafone, I work offshore so only have WiFi but when I was with VF WiFi calling worked perfectly, I have the same phone but with EE WiFi calling doesn't work .. it's enabled in settings..

Any help would be great 👍

Hi @pokbhoy,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Where is the WiFi network based? Is it a maritime network?

EE WiFi Calling will only work if it can see you're in the UK.

James

Hi James ,

Thanks for your reply, it's not a maritime network.

I was wondering if I maybe need to speak to EE incase they need to enable it from their end.

Just strange how it worked fine with Vodafone.

Hi @pokbhoy,

WiFi Calling is enabled by default. If you are offshore, I suspect the network can't be identified as UK based and so it won't allow WiFi Calling to connect.

WiFi-calling is only officially supported in the UK.

It can sometimes work abroad, but calls made in this way will be charged as normal roaming calls - it's not a way to avoid call charges.

Cheers James ,
