Can’t send a email on mobile data, works on Wi-Fi

I’m having a issue with both my iphone and iPad data
I cannot send a email using mobile data, it works fine on Wi-Fi, I can use mobile data to receive email ok, and web browsing etc.

I have put a 02 sim into my phone and it works perfectly sending emails, I have deleted my email account reloaded it on both my phone and iPad, and also loaded my email account onto another phone that’s on 02 and it all works fine so it’s not our email server.

I’ve looked on line and is there an issue using smtp port 25 (which is in my settings also), nothing has changed and it all used to work?
Thanks for any advice

Some networks only allow SMTP on Port 25 if they themselves are the email provider. So most email providers have an alternative SMTP to Port 25. Who is your email provider?

Not sure of the provider it’s a company email account, but colleagues aren’t having the issue and they have the same settings for their email. Thanks.

Does your company email allow authenticated SMTP?

Incoming (POP3 or IMAP) email always needs a password by default, but outgoing (IMAP or SMTP) can work with & without depending on your individual config.

Your symptoms do sound like an SMTP issue.

What's your email addy after the '@'?

Thanks for the reply, the thing is it works perfectly when I put a O2 SIM card in?

Dunno that 1! If you're prepared to experiment try:

  • Port 465: Often with SSL encryption but could be TLS.
  • Port 587: Often with TLS encryption but could be SSL.

In both cases they will usually require authentication to be the same as for the Incoming Server, i.e. your normal own domain email username & password.

Thank you I’ll give it a try.

Tried those ports, unfortunately it does not work.
