i have bought an add-on for my 4g dongle for USA but it wont connect to internet

hi, i recently bought an add on for my 4g dongle to use on holiday in the USA, i was told all i had to do was use it as normal when i arrived.turned it on and i am getting a red light on the internet connection.i need it use my phone for sat nav amongst other things but it says connected without interent.my mobile is tesco which dont have an option to use your phone in the USA, so cant phone EE to get help. Any help on getting my dongle working would be much appreciated. thank you

i bought the add on to use my data in the USA, i spoke to EE on the phone to do it to make sure i got the right 1.i think it may be the data roaming isnt on which i need to do theough the app which i dont have set up 🤦 and now struggling to get my details for that lol.im on contract. thanks for the customer service number.
