Hi,

i have recently turned 18 and trying to build a credit score, if i was to take out a data plan would this go towards building it up. Already have a phone so can’t do that. If it’s just a data plan will it help me?

@Jgumbrell  Anything on credit will help.  But putting yourself in to contract isn’t the best way to do this.   A credit card is better but only using it when needed and paying that as soon as possible is better.  You don’t have to use it all the time and it’s there if needed and there’s credit cards that a made for such a thing.

Credit scoring is internal to specific lenders, and largely a marketing term used by particular CRA's to sell additional services.

The best way to improve your chances of gaining future credit, is to demonstrate responsibility with credit over a period of time.

Credit-building credit cards are an excellent tool.
