I have upgraded to 500 Mbps instead of a100. I think I need a newer router. I don't think I'll get the same speed with the one I have

@ianmc11   hard to say unless you tell us which router you have now.

How long have you had it and what model is it?

I don't know what make it is it's a white front withe the circle on it. I done a speed test getting about 300 Mbps. Is that ok or what.

It will have a label on it saying which model it is, or you could log into it and it will let you know there.

It does not sound like the latest one, but should be able to give you 500Mbps over an ethernet connection - but if using WiFi will depend on what equipment you are using and how far away from the router you are.
