Every time I call my son's EE iPhone it disconnects after one ring

Both me and my son are on EE.

We both have iPhones.

Every time I, or anyone else, in the family calls him it disconnects after one ring. If you call a second time it rings as normal.

This has persisted across two different phones for him.

Is there a setting I can adjust to stop this?

Welcome to the community,

Could you check or ask him to check whether he has do not disturb on or silent mode? If it is the IOS 15 or 16, he can also check Focus, to check settings there.

My children both take a similar approach to calls from me 😉

Slightly more seriously, have you checked his Wi-Fi calling option under ‘mobile data’? It might be worth toggling that on and off and seeing if the issue persists in case it’s an issue with switching from mobile to a wifi network.
