my Pixel 7a is an older model for 4G calling?

Help please I'm really confused as to why my pixel is considered an old model for 4G calling, I got a text message saying 3G is being turned off and it will impact my device since it's an older model... Does this mean I have to upgrade my current mobile? I've only had it since June this year! And this model only released this year too.. I'm in dire need of help on what to do in this situation, there's no clarification of what I should do
