Hi,
Since Sunday whenever I try to open WhatsApp the app just immediately crashes. I've looked at advice and it suggested installing updates for WhatsApp and the phone - didn't work. Tried deleting the app and all its data and then re-installing. This seemed to fix the issue for a day but then the same thing started happening again.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and does anyone have any advice how to resolve it? I live in a rural area so most people here don't have access to SMS messages so WhatsApp is absolutely my primary form of communication and my phone is essentially useless without it.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Just on one point, I'm unsure why being in a rural area should have any impact on SMS? WhatsApp uses a data connection, which can either be WiFi or mobile data - if you have WiFi, most recent phones can receive SMS using WiFi-calling.
If reinstalling resolves for a short time before recurring, then I would suggest contacting WhatsApp for further assistance - https://faq.whatsapp.com/

I have quite a few friends who don't have wifi SMS messaging, hence having to use WhatsApp which always works on a wifi connection. Apart from in my case when it doesn't work 😅

EE's WiFi-calling has always supported SMS, as has 3. Other networks started supporting this since 2022.
