According to device specs, dual SIM is achieved by use of esim and nano SIM card, is this locked by carrier and would usual 6 month restriction be in place till it can be unlocked ?

It's great to know that new devices are sold unlocked (as they have to be, by law) - BUT does this mean that the EE SIM is automatically transferred to eSIM to allow space for a 3rd party SIM, OR do you still have to do the SIM to eSIM transfer? If so, how?

See What is an eSIM and how do I use an eSIM?

Yes; I know all that, but it doesn't answer my question.

Do new owners automatically get an eSIM transfer pack, or do they still have to order it?

@neilcameron  No they don’t and you need to request this.  You can do this via your EE account at a cost of 50p
