Travel data pass and Roam

Hi,

Constantly having issues with trying to enable things by texting 150.  I don't get a response for TRAVEL and have no idea if the pass is on or off.  ROAM gives me a generic resposne.  Nothing shows in my app dashboard for any of this.

How do I know if it's working or not or do I just wait for a massive bill and then argue?

Currently waiting to board the flight so this should be interesting....

You should be able to see it in your online MyEE under Add-ons or Extras.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

It doesn't show either.  I've just spoken to EE and they assure me both are active, but nothing in MyEE and no response from 150 text...

A few months back I got to India and had nothing.  Had to bombard 150 with travel stop and travel messages until it eventually worked.  They said it was on but I had no connection.  I had to stop and start it again...   Like windows...

What's both? TRAVEL is 1, what's the other?

ROAM

Ah, that's not a pass giving you a roaming allowance but just a permission to allow you to roam somewhere.

That's right yes, but my first stop is Vietnam and the travel data pass doesn't cover there, so I will need to use a roaming option.  But. If I can't use 150 then I won't be able to select options.

As it is not in EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/vietnam.

If you are on contract, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

Have just arrived in Australia. My phone will not receive or send texts or phone calls without WiFi.

I have received a message from EE to text Passport to 150.  THIS DOES NOT WORK. Very frustrating as you can imagine. No phone, no signal, not contactable unless in a WiFi Zone.

Tried switching phone off, nothing works. Can't call EE as my phone won't allow calls.  HELP

Hi @SteveWelburn

Thanks for coming here.

If you have a pay monthly account, could you check your roaming status by logging into your My EE account online go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Enable Roaming and also Call abroad, do they show as ticked?

Leanne 🙂
