Why is data transfer from unlimited time limited to a few day after refresh?

tried to do it today site is down for maintenance dosnt say how long for and all this time I’m loosing the amount I can transfer as the amount reduces day by day I don’t get the logic of this it’s limited to 100 gb so why limit the period it’s available

@Datadog : That's EE's business model. Obviously they want to sell bigger, more expensive plans to family members than they would otherwise if the family members could get given data throughout the month 😉.
