Unable to call the UK from Vietnam.

Hi there,

I live and work in Vietnam and recently spent 3 months in UK for a family bereavement. I used PAYG EE sim for 3 monthly packages. Before returning to Vietnam I called into an EE store to ask the best way to keep my number active whilst I am in Vietnam. I was told to just make sure I have credit in my account and to call the UK at least once every few months at international rates. I am unable to make any calls but can receive and send texts to 150 and receive messages from EE. I use a dual sim obviously using a local network while in Vietnam but wish to keep my UK number active for banking and when I return to the UK. I called the CS which was expensive using my local network and they did a test call to my EE number which worked but I still cannot call the UK. Any advice is welcome, TIA

Kind regards

@Neil7180 : A chargeable text, not to 150, every few months will do just as well to keep your SIM alive. Much cheaper!

Morning @Neil7180

Thanks for coming here 🙂

What happens when you try and make a call?

Have you tried manually selecting another network, to see if you can make calls to the UK?

Thanks.

Leanne.
