Upgrading pay as you go sim

Hello

 

Will my phone number stay the same if I put in my new upgraded pay as you go simcard? 

 

Today I received my new simcard and on the sticker it says the pin and puk code but also says mobile number which is not the same phone number as the one I have. 

 

Now im hesitant to put in this new sim card. Please help.

 

(I was asked to get a new upgraded simcard by EE as my data was no longer working on the old simcard I have in my phone which use to be T-mobile) when I called customer helpline to ask for a new upgraded pay as you go simcard so that I can use data- nothing was mentioned of a new phone number or keeping old  number. I obviously want to keep my old number. If I put in the new simcard will it change? )

You should have asked for a SIM with the same no. as your old SIM.
