I know that data speed on mainland Europe might be slower than at home, when roaming, but a) is there a difference between the daily roam versus the monthly pass? b) does anyone recommend getting an eSIM instead? Thanks.

@LE4d : The speed you get while roaming is purely dependant on what the local network gives you & nowt to do with what billing add-on you have.
The £2.29 daily roaming add-on is charged only on the days you use any of your UK allowances in the EU. The £25 per billing month Roam Abroad Pass is charged for all the billing months from when you start it to when you stop it, except the 1st billing is charged pro-rata if it runs over to the 2nd. You do the maths.
Remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your account.
