Unread Posts & Notification Feed Gone Haywire

XRaySpeX

  1. Many boldly highlighted "unread" threads/posts over the last 2 days I've already read. I even noticed 1 with latest post from last Weds which I'd certainly read before in the last 3 days. This is particularly noticeable in a forum's "Unread Topics". Looking at the BB forum now it has 14 topics listed as "Unread" most if not all I read under 15 mins ago.
  2. My Notification feed is coming up with "new" highlighted notifications that I've already seen before. Last night it showed 67 "new" notifications when only a handful are really new. Just to be clear it is not notifications themselves & their timestamps that are wrong but the fact that they are incorrectly boldly highlighted as "unread" & correspondingly counted in the red "Bell" counter.

I'm sure these are connected & would indicate a flaw in the timing calculations of unread things.

This wastes my time in going over things I've seen before.

@NickBS : Status Report: Unread Topics in all my "interesting" forums that I've already read = 0.

Therefore it looks as if over the past 29 hours it's been fixed. Has something been done to it?

3. I get screen pop-ups that someone is replying to threads I'm linked to but these often do not appear in my Notification feed.

This Community has become almost unusable to those of us trying to help others & looking out for new queries to tackle!

Just now when I came back to my PC after having dinner, my Notification feed said I had 48 new notifications. When I looked only 4 were new covering the last hour while I was away.

Also @Christopher_G 's post of 1 min. ago popped up but does not appear in my Notifications.

I'm sorry to have to say that the Unread Topics situation is currently SNAFU! All my interesting forums have >= 5 Unread Topics most or all of which I've already seen.

Do you have an idea of how long it takes for notifications and unread  markers to clear @XRaySpeX after you've read/launched ? Presuming they do eventually clear?

I dunno! They come & go. 1 min there's no Unreads & not long later there's loads that I've already read. I haven't timed it. I shall. The BB Forum is a nightmare. At the mo' there's loads but 2 days ago, I think, there were none after there being loads.

I know, I'll mark them now as All Read & see what happens.

Thanks @XRaySpeX  - I'm able to replicate the same behaviour, so being looked at with Khoros - but any more info around timings would be useful.

Good, @NickBS , I was wondering why nobody else was confirming it was also happening to them.
