So today the new box was installed meaning the house can accept the 1.6gb fibre. Doing a few speed tests wireless and wired we are getting 900mb-910mb on both. Called up and spoke to a sales rep who said this is normal and that no wired connection can get over that speed (thought that was odd) and wireless should go upto 1,6 with wifi6. Now tonight ive done some digging and others who have done speed tests etc are getting 1.6gb on the same tests we are using. He sent us a link to an ee speedtest to run which came back on wifi6 as 150mb/s XD but said this is normal and if we arnt happy we can drop our speed down to the 900. Id like to keep the 1.6 if im getting that speed but if the speed we are getting (900) is all we can get as he says then why would we pay the extra for 1.6 to get the same speed as the 900 lol
are we being misled?

I'd expect you to see faster than 900Mbps on wireless, but on wired, it's unlikely. This is because the ethernet ports on the router (and probably on your computer) are gigabit and so will allow throughput at 1Gbps only. If you want a wired connection, you'll need a different router that has 2.5Gbps ethernet ports, and a 2.5Gbps ethernet card or adapter for your computer.
