Moving from BT to EE Mid Contract

Hi, I’m currently a BT customer but have mobiles/watches/sims with EE. I’m looking to change to EE broadband as the prices are better for the same level of service I currently pay BT for. I asked on a live chat with an EE advisor whether I would incur a termination fee by switching. He confirmed I would, however I have seen posts here that state the opposite and I’d be able to switch fee free? 

Can anyone confirm which is correct?

You have to phone BT on 0330 123 4150 to arrange the regrade from BT to EE. If you have BT email addresses and or BT Cloud you can also keep these but they will stay with BT and be administered through you BTID.

That’s what I did and I didn’t pay the fee - but I was told I have to take a higher package to avoid the fee. I was on 900mb with BT and gone to 1.6gb on new EE
