GPON terminal

Just moved into a house which seems to have multiple sockets but the fibre line is connected to a GPON terminal. EE have said fibre will be switched on on the 16th. Just wondering if anyone knows what the GPON terminal is and should I plug router into this or put fibre connection straight into my new router?

Hi @Jimbob1972

Thanks for coming here.

Does the equipment have Openreach branding?

Our Set up Your Home Broadband EE Router | Broadband Help | EE has helpful steps for getting set up 🙂

Leanne.

No the GPON terminal is Hiiauwei

Thanks @Jimbob1972

Do you also have Openreach equipment?

Are you getting an engineer visit to get everything installed?

Leanne.

No engineer has been mentioned for the 16th

@Jimbob1972    are you able to post a pic of what you have?

Edit Or is you are able to post the results of the BTW DSL checker, it will show if an ONT is already fitted. A ONT could be described as a GPON, but equally it could be something another network provider has installed.
