Unlocking Netgear MR2100

Hello all,

I have acquired a few second hand Netgear MR2100 routers which I'd like to unlock.  They are currently locked to EE.

I have called EE customers services but have been advised it's not possible to unlock the devices unless the company who originally acquired them contacted EE. I've also been told that they are no longer within contract but original customer still has to call to have them unlocked?  is this true?  I'm not sure who the original customer was.  It's completely understandable if the devices were reported as lost or stolen.....

I've purchased 2nd hand devices many a times and EE were always happy to unlock......

Any advice would be much appreciated.

@upmuscle : If they were on a co. business a/c then only they can get them unlocked.

You could try just applying for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no.

Thank you for the reply @XRaySpeX .

The link you provided is asking phone number of device.  I don't have this information unfortunately.

I do believe the devices were on a business account.

It shouldn't be doing that. It can only have a mobile no. if it has a SIM in it & you should be able to request an unlock before you even put another network's SIM in it. You sure it's not asking for a contact mobile no.? Did you input the IMEI 1st?

I just tried that form for 1 of my EE mobile routers. It never asked for any mobile nos., just the IMEI & gave me the unlock code immediately.

Ive had both the Mr1100 and the Mr2100 from 3rd Parties and have got them unlocked via EE Customer Services buy using my own EE Mobile Number.

Are you sure these are EE Network Locked and not Locked by another Virtual Provider using the EE Network, from memory without checking the EE Locked versions had an extra E in the towards the end of the stickers Model Number, something like MR2100 EE100US or 100EEUS or simular.

if youve got more than one, your probably better trying to do each one separately.

I tried the link again and it asked for the IMEI number.

I've filled in the form and submitted it but it didn't give me the unlock number and said that I'll be contacted within 7 days.  Is this standard?

@EssexBoyEE Devices definitely locked to EE.

EDIT:  the unlock code just came through.......

Is it OK to do the same with the others?

Thank you so much!!!!!

As I said it gave me the unlock code immediately after I just input the IMEI. It also gave a link to the full unlock instructions & offered to email them to me if I suppled email addy.

Yes, do all the others 1-by-1.

Much appreciated @XRaySpeX

This link took me straight to the page to enter the IMEI number:

https://myaccount.ee.co.uk/app/device-unlock
