My Samsung Galaxy A13 is set to unlock with a fingerprint or with a PIN. If the fingerprint is not being read, and I press the power button, the phone has stopped asking for a PIN and unlocks as soon as the power button is pressed.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Have you set the extend unlock location, in settings.
Have you checked the finger print and pin is activated.
Have you tried restarting your device.
Thanks

Thanks.
I don't have any extend unlock settings in force and I tried a restart.
I have done a temporary fix by de-registering my fingerprint for unlocking - now the power button takes me to the locked screen and doesn't unlock when I press it. I'd rather have the use of my fingerprint though.
It's only just started doing this; before, if my fingerprint wasn't read, the PIN prompt always came up when I pressed the power button.

Have you tried re-registering your fingerprint, @BrianJenking?

Thanks James.
That seems to have fixed the issue.
