Phone Turning Off

My Google Pixel will continuously turn itself off. Mostly when in my pocket. 

Works fine when turned back on. 

Any ideas?

Do you have the screen locked when it is in your pocket? 

How often does this happen?

Yes. Screen locked. 

Happens every time in pocket and can happen when left on table over time. 

Happens like 20 times a day. 

Occasioanlly will turn off when in use. But otherwise works normally.

Have you tried factory resetting the device? 

You will need to back up all your data before trying this.

I have tried this. 

Same result. I wonder if more of a hardware issue. 

Read online that the battery can become loose?
